This weekends' altar flowers were donated by Dan and Eileen Gallagher in memory of family members from the Flynn and Gallagher families.

Heather Underwood was born and raised in Ohio, and has lived in the Pittsburgh area for twelve years. She earned two degrees from Pitt, and now works as a public servant. Heather loves to travel, and has been to St. Peter's and to Egypt. She is a Penguins season-ticket holder, and enjoys sailing and kayaking. She is also a Docent at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Heather has a younger sister and brother, and is devoted to her nieces and nephews, who live in Ohio.

Heather was baptized Catholic, but received no additional religious training. She says that she had been considering joining the Catholic Church for some time when "I came across St. Scho's one day and attended on a whim. I kept coming." She credits participation in the RCIA with helping her to "think about more than myself, and to open myself to God and the wider community."

Heather says she "always looked forward to Wednesday night and our sessions." Leslie Forney accompanied Heather through much of the process as her sponsor. Heather notes that "I have learned so much in the RCIA. I really enjoy what I am doing." The highlight of the experience for her has been "meeting such wonderful people," and she is particularly grateful for the "support and friendship many in the parish have given me." She advises anyone considering the RCIA to "do it!" and she has encouraged her siblings to look into the possibility.

The team is grateful for Heather's faithful and fruitful participation in the process. She has always brought herself in a really open way to our meetings and rituals, ready to share her thoughts and experience and to walk with others on the path of discipleship. We congratulate Heather on her reception of Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil, and we look forward to her continuing presence in our community!

We will be selling gift certificates after all Masses this weekend, June 19th and June 20th. A wide variety will be available including Giant Eagle, Community Market and Panera. Cash or checks (payable to CDTCA) will be accepted. Thank you for your continued support.

Congratulations to Joshua and Erin Nanci on the baptism of their son, Eli West and to Mario and Andrea Rini on the baptism of their son, Tyler, on June 13th. Also on this Father's Day we congratulate David and Beth whose daughter, Ava, is being baptized at this Sunday's 9:00am mass.

Next weekend, June 26-27, the ANNUAL PETER'S PENCE COLLECTION will be taken. This annual collection enables the Holy Father to respond with emergency financial assistance to those throughout the world who suffer from war, oppression, disease and natural disasters. This annual collection is a powerful way for Catholics around the world to shed the light of Christ on those who are most in need. Please be as generous as your circumstances allow.

Our Mission trip to Appalachia begins June 27th. We appreciate your support! Please keep us in your prayers.

Elementary Religious Education is initiating support for children with developmental disorders that make standard classroom experience in religious education difficult. We hope to include support for parents as well. If you are interested please contact jamiedillon@comcast.net or 412 781 0186 x20. Your input is integral to this effort.
