BLOOD DRIVE

St. Scholastica's Fall Blood Drive will be next Sunday, Nov. 28, 8am to 1pm, in the Pastoral Center. Everyday is a challenge to see enough blood donors to meet local needs. Although over 50% of the population is eligible to give blood, only about 5% actually do. New donors are needed every day in order to maintain regional blood supplies. Please give blood, call JoAnn Liebert at 412-767-4248 to make an appointment and help save lives.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Just a reminder that there is no Religious Education on Tuesday November 23 and Sunday November 28th. As you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday please take a moment to pray for our catechists.

THANKS TO SISTER MARILYN

For many years Sr. Marilyn has served our parish especially in her ministry to the sick. She left full time ministry here in July of 2009 but continued to coordinate pastoral care to the Catholic patients at St. Margaret Hospital. Recently, Sister Marilyn fell and broke her left arm. She is now recovering. However, Sister has informed me that she no longer has the health and stamina to coordinate the Eucharistic Ministers who serve at St. Margaret Hospital. As we thank Sister for her many years of service to our parish and diocese, we also pray for her speedy recovery.

I want to thank Mary Bernard and Kathy Goreczny who have volunteered to coordinate the scheduling of ministers of Holy Communion at St. Margaret Hospital. These ministers of Holy Communion are from our parish and neighboring parishes. Because of their commitment, patients at St. Margaret Hospital are able to receive Holy Communion every day of the week. We are grateful for their committed service. Fr. Ken

CHRISTMAS SHARING TREE
As part of our Advent preparation for Christmas, once again this year we are inviting you to take a tag from the Christmas Sharing tree during the Masses next weekend. These tags represent a way to reach out to others as we would reach out to Christ Himself. Some of the tags represent children and adults who are facing financial distress this Christmas time. Some of the tags represent children whom we support in Haiti and Kenya. So we invite you next week to take
a tag and to return your gifts/donations on the weekend of Dec 11th and12th. What a wonderful way to prepare the Way of the Lord.
