WEB ALERT! NEW SITE OPEN
Try out the newly rebuilt St. Scholastica Parish website at
www.saintscholastica.com.  The site contains basic information about the parish,
as well as a number of features that we hope you find useful.  You can now sign
your children up for religious education classes online, contact parish groups
in order to participate in their activities, and inform the parish of the needs
of parishioners who are newly shut-in or are in the hospital.  We encourage you
to explore the site, and please notify us through the "feedback" link if you
encounter any problems.

SNOW TUBING
Our annual youth ministry snow tubing day at 7 Springs is Wednesday, December
29th.  We will tube the 11-1 Session.  Cost is $25 per person.  RSVP to the
youth ministry office by December 21st.

INTERSECTION
All students in grades 8-12 are invited to join us for Intersection, our Bible
Study in the ministry center from 10-11am December 19th.

MEGA MEETING
Just a reminder to our confirmation class that we have a MEGA meeting on Sunday,
December 19thfrom 12-1:30 in the pastoral center.

GIFT CARDS
For all your last minute Christmas gifts, holiday parties and planning your
Christmas dinner, please stop at the back of church next weekend, December 18th
and19th.  We will be selling gift cards for ALL local grocery stores and many
restaurants and retail stores.  Please consider purchasing gift cards and
supporting our school.

HOLIDAY STRINGS
Next Sunday, December 19th, the Fox Chapel Area Ambassador Orchestra will
present a program of sacred and secular holiday music, including a sing-along of
your favorite carols and holiday songs.  It will be at 2:00pm at the Aspinwall
Presbyterian Church.  This concert will feature the 20 piece orchestra
representing the best string students at Fox Chapel Area High School.

PARISH GIFT PROJECT
All Christmas gift donations including tuition donation envelopes for students
of Haiti and Kenya are due this weekend.  Please join us today after mass as we
carry the gifts from the altar to the rectory, where the gifts will be sorted
for delivery.

MINISTRY OF PRAISE
In preparation for a new Ministry of Praise prayer list, please put prayer
requests in the boxes in the vestibule of the church or call Mary Catherine at
412-781-6550 or email scanlonk@juno.com.
 
CHRISTMAS MASS SCHEDULE
             Christmas Eve Masses: 4:00pm (Children's Christmas Eve Mass),
7:00pm and 10:00pm (there is no midnight Christmas Eve Mass.
             Christmas Day Masses: one Mass scheduled at 10:00am (no 5:00pm
Christmas Day Mass).
             Sunday December 26th: 7:30am, 9:00am & 11:00am Masses.

GREETING OF PEACE
Traditionally we all know that during the Greeting of Peace we turn to one and
other and shake hands.  Given the flu season, the acceptable alternative would
be a nod of the head and a smile.

ADVENT CONFESSION SCHEDULE
St. Scholastica has confessions scheduled on Monday, December 13that 7:00pm. 
St. Francis in Harmar has confessions on Wednesday, December 15that 7:00pm.  St.
Edwards in Blawnox has confessions on Thursday, December 16that 7:00pm.  Prepare
the way for the coming of the Lord!  When was the last time you made a good
confession??

CHRISTMAS EVE LITURGY
Our Annual Children's Christmas Eve Liturgy is at 4:00pm on Friday, December
24th.  As is our tradition we will have children in grades k-2 dress as angels
and shepherds.  If your child would like to participate please contact Kirsten
Powell at kcpwll@gmail.comby December 15th.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Children in grades 3-8 are invited to sing in the Christmas Eve Children's choir
for the 4:00pm Liturgy.  Our rehearsal will be Saturday, December 18thfrom
9:30-12:00 in the pastoral center. This is our only rehearsal and so it is
mandatory.  If your child would like to participate please contact Jamie Dillon

CDTCA 2011 LOTTERY CALENDARS
CDTCA 2011 Lottery Calendars are now available. They can be found in the back of
church or in the school office.  The price is still $25 to play your number all
year for the evening drawing.  Please call the office (412)781-7927 or Anne
Cooper (412)782-5892 with any questions. Calendars make great gifts!
