A NOTE FROM FATHER TORQUATO
Having ascended to the glory of heaven and to the right hand of the Father in the wonderful event of the Ascension, Jesus now exists in the glory of God and the divine Kingdom of God.  From there, the Lord Jesus blesses and guides the Church through the gift and the presence of the divine Holy Spirit.
As Catholic Christians, we want Jesus to truly be close to us, and we want to feel and know that we are close to him.  This is why Jesus sends his Holy Spirit to each of us and to our families and communities so that each of us and all of us may be in communion with the Lord throughout our lives.
May we know that, in our Baptism and in the Eucharist and in the Church, Jesus is with us and with all of his billions of disciples.  May we be glad to have his presence and to know that he shares his life with each and every one of his friends in the Church.  God bless!
                                                                                     —Father Jim Torquato

HONORING OUR BLESSED MOTHER MARY DURING THE MONTH OF  MAY
This past Thursday, at the conclusion of the morning Ascension Holy Day Liturgy, our CDTCA students, teachers, and parents celebrated the annual May Crowning of the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  It was a wonderful event that Catholic Christians celebrate with our young children and students every May.
It is a very good practice for us to honor and to celebrate our Blessed Mother Mary every day of May and every day of the year!  Mary brought our Lord and Savior to humanity, and she remains our mother as well.  May we all express our gratitude and devotion to Mary this month of May and every of our lives!

Help put Ann in a new van!   Please see today’s bulletin insert about this month’s effort to acquire a new transport van for Miss Ann Scanlon of our parish.  You can “click for Ann” every day this month and help her in this effort to receive new transportation soon!

Once again, thank you for helping to clean up our church after (and before)  each weekend Liturgy.  We’re all very grateful for your care and your help!

Jesus and his mother, Mary
As our nation celebrates Mothers Day this Sunday, we’re also reminded that Jesus and his mother, Mary, were devoted to each other.  Mary accepted the invitation of God the Father to bring his divine Son into the world, and in turn Jesus shared his life and glory and salvation with Mary his mother.  May we also love and be devoted to Mary and to our own mothers as well!

Our Saint Scholastica Parish Mission is to continue the work of Christ together as a faith community, through the celebration of the Sacraments, living spiritually in the world, and working to be caring members of the community.  As committed Catholics, we are sent to bear the Light of Christ to transform the world by our devotion, service and witness.
