 A NOTE FROM FATHER TORQUATO
The Lord Jesus, and our Blessed Mother, Mary, and Saint Joseph, and all the Holy Ones (the Saints and Angels) of God are amazing and wonderful role models for all of us in our Catholic Christian faith and life! It’s certainly good for us to remember Jesus and Mary and all the Saints every day of the year.
Our parish calendars help us to remember all the solemnities, feasts, and memorials of our Faith throughout the year! May we remain close to the Lord and our Mother, Mary, and all the Holy Ones throughout our lives! May we know that they and we are all members of the Lord’s one family and one worldwide community of all the ages! May we be close to them in prayer and be inspired by them to a deep and abiding faith in God and in God’s eternal Kingdom. God bless!
                                                         —Father Jim Torquato

HONORING MARY, THE MOTHER OF GOD
We honor God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit every day! It is right and just!
May we also honor those who gave their lives for the Lord, the Gospel, the Church, and the Kingdom — beginning with Mary who accepted the Father’s plan and brought our Redeemer and Savior into the world for all humanity.
May we honor Mary, the Mother of God, today and throughout the year for her faith in God, for her role, and for the love she offers to us daily!

2017 WILL MOVE US CLOSER TO OUR NEW FUTURE
We’re now closer to the reorganization of all parishes here in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. For all of us, this project will be a challenge. It will require a good deal of work and patience and understanding.
However, to keep the Church alive and present here in Southwestern Pennsylvania, it is a project that’s absolutely necessary given the real decline of our region and population and participation of our membership. May the Lord be with us in this work!

BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Like all the years before 2017, may your New Year be blessed and filled with goodness and peace and love both in your personal life and in your family life! May you be close to Jesus and walk with the Lord every day of 2017! May you also join us every Sunday and Holy Day and Holy Season as we dedicate another year to God and celebrate the Gospel and all that our faith holds for us all! God bless!

MANY, MANY THANKS!
Thank you very, very much to all our parish staff members and volunteers who made our Christmas celebration joyful and memorable! From our music ministers, to our lectors and servers and Communion Ministers, to our ushers and collection counters, to our office staff, to our maintenance and custodial staff, and to all who gave us your help, thank you all very much! May our Lord bless you abundantly in this New Year!

PRAYING FOR PEACE TODAY AND IN 2017
Today is our World Day of Prayer for Peace! In fact, every day should be a world day of prayer for peace! May we all remember and believe in the power of God and the power of prayer, and may we pray fervently for one another each day and for peace in our homes, our nation, and our world! May God bless us with peace!

PLANNING AHEAD EARLY FOR THIS YEAR
It’s now time to look at 2017 and begin planning all the important events and matters of our new year. One of these matters is your child/ren’s education! A NOTE FROM FATHER TORQUATO
Best wishes to you, your family, and everyone for a blessed celebration of Christmas and for a truly joyful Christmas Season!
I know that today and this week will be busy with your holiday celebrations — whether you’re celebrating at home, or going to visit family, or are maybe even going soon to a Caribbean beach or to somewhere in Europe or to a ski  resort.
Even with all that fills these days of Christmas,  I pray that each of us will spend some time with the Lord in prayer.  I hope that we’ll remember that first Christmas morning and the young mother and father welcoming their newborn child into this world.  It was a most humble event that has changed the world and all of human history!
In the spirit of the Lord’s birth, may we sincerely give thanks to God!  May we make this a truly spiritual commemoration this year.  May we determine to support young mothers and fathers, and may we also be caring toward those who are away from home, those who are migrants, and those who are displaced by their circumstances.  Again, Merry Christmas!   May God bless us one and all!
                                                                                                —Father Jim Torquato

THANKS TO THE WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME FOR OUR 2017 PARISH CALENDARS

BEST WISHES FOR A BLESSED CHRISTMAS!
As we arrive now at Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we extend best wishes to our parish members and families and friends and neighbors for a very joyful Christmas celebration this year!
For most Catholic Christians, this is the most special time of the year!   May you enjoy being with your family and children and grandchildren and friends and neighbors.  May this Christmas Season be filled with celebration and goodness and joy as we remember the birth of the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, and as we look forward to his Second Coming in majesty and power and glory!  God bless!  Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year 2017!
