A NOTE FROM FATHER TORQUATO
Best wishes to everyone who’s come to our Easter Sunday Liturgies and to all our members, families, relatives, friends, and guests for a very joyful celebration of the Lord Jesus’ Resurrection!

One of the small number of movies that I actually recommend to others for their viewing is last year’s wonderful movie entitled Risen!  Starring Joseph Fiennes, it is a wonderful presentation of the event of Jesus’ Resurrection told from the perspective of a Roman centurion.
Risen! dramatizes the events that we know from the Gospels as well as other aspects about which we don’t usually consider.  It is very well written and produced, and it can even be inspiring to our personal and community faith!
The Resurrection was and always will be the most glorious event in human history and in the history of the world.  May you and all of us celebrate Easter and Jesus’ Resurrection with full faith.  May we again watch Risen! On Demand, and may you and all of us be inspired to believe in the Risen Lord Jesus today and always.  God bless!
                                                                                   — Father Jim Torquato

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
To all of our financial contributors and our parish volunteers, thank you very much for your constant generosity to our parish community!   Our staff, school, and entire community greatly appreciate your financial and volunteer support.  You all help to keep our parish community strong and alive!  Thanks!

OUR 2018 PARISH SHARE CAMPAIGN
Thank you for your annual support of our Parish Share Campaign which allows us to support Bishop Zubik and our Diocesan Church of Pittsburgh!    All registered households have been sent your campaign pledge letter.
Our 2018 Parish Share goal is to raise $67,780 for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.   Each household is asked to contribute $250 or more at this time or to make an 11 month pledge.  On behalf of our Bishop and our entire Diocesan Church, thank you for helping our parish community to meet our 2018 Parish Share goal before April 30!

BEST WISHES FOR A JOYFUL EASTER SUNDAY AND A BLESSED EASTER SEASON, AND MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO’VE MADE THIS A WONDERFUL EASTER CELEBRATION!
Today, the Church throughout the world begins our 50 day celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus!   May you and your family have a blessed Easter Season today until Pentecost Sunday!
Many thanks, too, to all our parish members, choir members, musicians, music director, lectors, communion ministers, servers, ushers, collection counters, maintenance staff, and parish staff for making this year’s Easter celebration both memorable and prayerful.  Thank you all!   Have a blessed Easter Season!

OUR SANCTUARY WALL SURVEY
Begun on Sunday, March 18, a survey is being taken now.  This parish survey is meant to help determine our members’ interest in possibly repainting the main church sanctuary wall in order to return it to a simple solid color.  The current appearance of the sanctuary wall was unveiled in 2011.
Many parish members have asked that the sanctuary wall be returned to its original appearance—especially before we welcome our three neighboring parish communities to join us for the Liturgy every Sunday beginning October 2018.
Please complete your ballots located in the church and return them to the parish office before Tuesday, April 3.  Thank you very much!

OUR NEW PARISH IN 2022
As our diocesan “On Mission for the Church Alive!” program moves forward, Saint Scholastica Parish, Saint Joseph Parish, Saint Juan Diego Parish, and Saint Pio Parish will be merged by 2022.
In late April  2018,  priests will receive assignments that will begin in October 2018.   In October 2018, the Liturgy Schedule of each church will be changed to 1-2 Liturgies per church.
The final consolidation is set to be completed by the end of 2021.   Our Diocese is doing our best given our decline in population, participation, donations, and clergy.  Thanks for your support of  On Mission for the Church Alive!
